The lid is transparent and designed for easy cleaning the basket. Ensure that the o ring is fitted snug in the groove of the body.

As soon as the lid turns white/milky colour it is indicated that the pump overheated and can cause an air suction problem.  It is advisable to replace the pump lid and o ring to prevent further harm on the pump if it is still running fine
